Dr. Akanand Singh, award winner SURGEON has been the pioneer of Liver Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery in Nepal. Dr. Singh is the first in the country to complete PhD in Hepatobiliary Surgery. In 2021, he established liver transplantation program at Chitwan Medical College (CMC), Bharatpur and KIST Medical College, Lalitpur in 2022 where he along with his team successfully performed Nepal’s first Combined Liver Kidney Transplantation (CLKT) in 2023. He has received training in Hepatobiliary & Liver Transplantation Surgery from the WORLD’S BEST institutions like Mayo Clinic, Rochester, U.S.A., Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, U.S.A, Asan Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea, Chongqing Medical University, China & Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, India.
